Seeing our journey mentioned in a publication that highlights education, entrepreneurship, and real-life learning was such an emotional and proud moment for our family here in Nampa, Idaho.
Our Story Started at the Kitchen Table
Hazel Slimes didn’t begin as a big business idea.
It started as a creative activity at home.
Milena began making slime for fun — mixing colors, testing textures, and creating different scented slimes just to bring joy into our home. Over time, it became something much more meaningful. What began as a simple hobby slowly turned into a family project we could all work on together.
From labeling jars to packing orders, our children became part of the process. They weren’t just playing — they were learning.
Learning Financial Literacy Through Creativity
One of the reasons this article is so special to us is because it highlights something we truly believe in:
kids can learn real-world skills through creativity and small business experiences.
Through Hazel Slimes, our kids are learning:
Responsibility and teamwork
Creativity and problem-solving
Customer service and communication
The value of earning and saving
How a real business operates behind the scenes
These are lessons that go far beyond slime. They are life skills that will stay with them forever.
From Local Beginnings to a Growing Online Brand
We first shared our slimes locally with families who loved sensory play and fun textures. The encouragement we received gave us the confidence to grow and expand online.
Today, families across the country enjoy our handmade slimes, satisfying textures, and themed collections. But even as we grow, we are still the same family-run business creating every slime with care, love, and attention to detail.
Why This Feature Means So Much to Our Family
Being featured in Idaho Business Review is not just about recognition.
It represents our mission as a family:
Raising a young entrepreneur
Building something meaningful together
Teaching financial literacy in a hands-on way
Turning creativity into real-life learning
The article shares how early exposure to entrepreneurship and money skills can help shape confident, capable kids — and that message reflects exactly what Hazel Slimes stands for.
The Heart Behind Hazel Slimes
Milena brings the creative vision with fun textures, colors, scents, and themes kids absolutely love.
As a mom, I focus on quality, safety, and making sure every slime we ship is consistent and made with care.
Together, we’ve built more than a slime shop.
We’ve built a family journey filled with creativity, learning, and purpose.
