Bringing Joy One Slime at a Time
Hi! I’m Yelena, the owner of Hazel Slimes.
Hazel Slimes began with my oldest daughter. She started making slime just for fun, and of course I joined her. At the time, our family was going through one of the hardest seasons of our lives after losing my husband. We needed something that could bring a little comfort, distraction, and joy back into our home.
What started as simple kitchen experiments quickly became our safe place — a creative outlet that helped us heal while giving us something to look forward to each day. We mixed, tested, laughed, and before we knew it… we were completely hooked on slime.
Eventually we decided to take a small table to our local farmers market “just to try it.” The response surprised us. Kids were instantly excited about the colors, textures, and scents, and parents loved seeing their kids so happy. That little moment gave us the confidence to keep going.
And the name? It actually came from my obsession with the color hazel at the time — rich, cozy, and warm. We loved how it felt, and just like that… Hazel Slimes was born. (And no, no one in our family is named Hazel — we just really liked the color!)
Fast forward a couple of years, and now this small idea has grown into a family business we run together. From mixing slimes, creating new textures and scents, packing orders, and dreaming up new slime drops — it’s truly a team effort with my creative, adventurous kids.
Some days it’s messy, chaotic, and full of laughter… but it’s also incredibly special.
